Campaign Manager - Campaign Manager (Silverlight)

Creating Audiences

Create your Audiences so you can accurately target specific recipients for your campaigns.

Audiences are comprised of Inclusion segments and Exclusion segments.

Inclusions are the pool of people you would like to include in the audience. Exclusions are the pool of people that will be excluded from the audience. The Total Audience is the pool of people that will be the recipients of the campaign, taking into account your Inclusions and Exclusions.

In the campaign audience you can have only Program Inclusions and Exclusions, or only Campaign Inclusions and Exclusion Segments, or a combination of both.

If you are using a Program, its global Inclusion and Exclusion rules will apply and be visible under the Campaign's Audience tab, but will not be editable there. You create and edit Program Inclusions and Exclusions in Variable Manager.

The campaign model has been designed so that records that are included in an audience segment will remain there, even if they drop out of the selected criteria after the campaign has been started. For example, if an audience segment is selecting 18 to 24 year olds, people that turn 25 after the campaign has started will remain in the audience until the campaign is paused and the audience segments are recalculated.

In some cases, you may start with an audience of all contactable Customers, for example, a campaign where actions are triggered by activity on the website, in this scenario, the audience should still be defined as the full table clarity of the inclusions. Campaign validation will give a warning if the Audience inclusions is not defined.

it is possible to create both static and dynamic audiences which defines whether the Inclusions and re-run or not. A locked Inclusions campaign will create the audience when the start track fist polls then the audience will be locked, and once this option is enabled, it cannot be edited once the campaign has started. It should be noted that in test mode, audiences are always locked, as test campaign is defined for single execution and review.
